Post one of three...first half of Tully visit

OMG, I have missed this. I am so glad that I can come back to you with lots to say:). We had a great weekend. The weather actually held up (for the most part). Your thoughts and prayers really helped.

Ok, I will summarize my weekend for you in section b/c it will get long.

Thursday- I picked up Sophie and Cindy at the airport, and because it was raining, we decided to go to Freeport and shop around. We had fun exploring and definitely saw L.L.Bean. We then came back, and toured Portland (in the car). It was pretty foggy at that point, so we decided to get some cheese and fruit and come back to the apartment and relax. After a while, we drove them to the hotel, because it had been a long day of traveling.
We later went shopping around Portland and saw what amazing stores Old Port has to offer. We went to a great place for dinner where we watched the weather go from no rain, to a complete downpour every few minutes. Luckily, by the time we left, it was a dry moment.

Friday, we woke up and guess what??? No rain! So we decided to take them to the lighthouses around us. The lighthouses are located in Cape Elizabeth and are really only 20 minutes away. They have easy access and are of course beautiful.

On our way to the lightouses, we noticed that the strawberry picking farm was open, so we decided to go strawberry picking as well.

After the strawberry picking, we went to the other lighthouse park. We watched the fog roll in and explored the fort. This first lighthouses were in the Two Lights area. This one is called Headlight and is a famous Maine landmark.
We continued on our day and ate at a great restaurant downtown ( The Farmer's Table). After lunch, we went to a hole in the wall (actually pier) place to pick up some seafood to grill for the fourth. We decided on lobster tails and shrimp. These lobsters literally were coming off the boat and being loaded into the tanks, as we were buying them. Talk about fresh!

p.s.- no touching the lobsters
After the fun lobster adventure, C and I went to the market to get some more supplies for the fourth, while Ned and S went to pick up Pat and Mary. After picking them up, we came back to the apartment for some more relaxation time. They had a long day as well and were totally ready to take it easy. They had gotten up at around 3 or so. Crazy!!

After taking everyone to the hotel, and getting changed, we went back downtown and shopped around. We went to one of our favorite restaurants in Old Port called Street and Co. It is known for it's amazing seafood. We enjoyed oysters, and mussels for appetizers. Ned and I, and M and P each ordered a lobster dinner for two. Well, when our meals came out, the waitress was struggling to hold the pans that our food was in. When she set them down, we realized why. It probably had two pounds of pasta in it, along with enough clams, mussels, calamari, to feed probably 4-5 people. Not to mention the two lobsters on top. Needless to say, we couldn't finish it, and my WW meeting will probably be a huge bust this week.

After dinner, we went to the bar/restaurant at the hotel to chat it up and have some dessert. We ended up calling it a night after about an hour in preparation of the fourth.
