Our Relaxing Weekend

Hello! OK, so here is an update on our fun and relaxing weekend. It is kind of a play by play, may be boring, but here ya go:).

I am on some meds right now that make me a little nauseous, so it was touch and go. But mostly it was a go weekend:). Thursday night, Ned surprised me and said, lets have a date night. So I got dressed up and we went to a small italian  restaurant and had a great time.

Thursday morning, we woke up and went to Shawnee Mission Park in Overland Park. It is November (as you can see by the leaves) but it was a pretty warm day. So we enjoyed just walking around. As we were driving out, we found the right trails to go on. We will do those next time, but we had fun just getting out and walking along some paths and around the lake.

We later went to Moe's for lunch (amazing burrito place). Moe's is not close by, so it was a great treat.

We went home, relaxed and then went to Mass St (downtown) to look at all of their new Christmas items. We also got some tea. Yum:)

Saturday morning, I went bridesmaid dress shopping with Sophie and Cindy. We had a blast and found the dress! What a success!! I came home, and once again, Ned had amazed me. He had cleaned, vacuumed, did the dishes and laundry. OMG. He is amazing. What can I say. I am so thankful for him. Yes, I seem to be bragging a lot, but he has just been a big help when I have needed him most.

We then watched football (and KU lost Boo:(( ) and some Battlestar Galactica. We also played cards:). Sunday was pretty much the same. Just spending time together, taking lots of walks, and enjoying the beautiful weekend.

All in all we had a great weekend, spending quality time and taking in the beautiful fall weather. I hope your weekend was just as great:).

This is my good picture...

I had to put this in, b/c it was extremely windy and this picture proves it. Plus, I think it is kinda funny and goofy looking. Niña's head is apparently chopped off. lol

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Sadly, today is not thanksgiving (turkey, you have a few more weeks to hide out). But I am in a mood to celebrate today. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shinning and my dogs are barking at nothing. Well, they are being bad, but I love them anyway. I am going to write a list of things to be thankful for because quite honestly, I never take the time to sit and think of all of the positive forces in my life. Yes, I do think about them when they happen, but I am going to compile a list. I urge you to do the same, and look back on it when you're having a not so special day.

1. CHRISTMAS MUSIC IS ON!!! Yes, it had to be in all caps, becasue I love me some holiday cheer!

2. Family and friends, who are the best in the world. They are supportive and loving and amazing.

3. My dogs...just becasue they are perfect.

4. The Jayhawks, because, well, they own last night, and they freaking rock my socks

5. Cold weather, because, well, I really love my collection of jackets, and I can't wear a jacket in the summer now can I?

6. Being ahead of the game this year, and already taking the stress out of my life and ordered my christmas cards

7. A healthy family (most of the time:))

8. Food to eat (yummy in my tummy!)

9. A roof over my head

10. A car that I freaking love, but more importanlty that runs and is safe

11. A good support team in times of crisis (i.e. Dr's, insurance)

12. The pharmacy, because hey, who doesn't rely on them for not only meds, but those late night snacks. They are up all night, and I never hesitate to give them a ring-a-ling if I have a question

13. The internet....really I have no other words to describe the God given gift that is called the ineternet

14. My own washer and dryer because I have faced having to share one, and it isn't pretty

15. When I wake up to our living room being spotless, and the blinds pulled up to let me see what a beautiful day it is outside.

16. Traveling, we love it, always have, always will

17. The four seasons. I look forward to them every few months, they bring me great joy

18. My TV, I love it

19. My bed, I could stay there all day, but that wouldn't be very adult-like now would it?

20. My sight, so I can read my amazing books

21. And last, but is really first, Ned. He is amazing, what else can I say?

There are a billion more things I am thankful for, and may list them over the next up coming weeks until Thanksgiving. But that's it for now!

Me-0 vs Washer-2

Yep, the washer has become my nemesis. Two times in one day. Is that even possible?

1. I ruined one of Ned's really good shirts. We both have some Marino wool shirts that are amazing for winter. They are great as under shirts and are even better for hiking. Well, the instructions read: DO NOT wash with softener or put in dryer. Well, winter has started. Unbeknownst to me, so has Ned's winter wordrobe. So I just put his pile in the washer and go on with my day, only pausing to switch it over. Well, a few weeks ago, I bought some detergent that I had never used. It was for breast cancer, and I said, why not? Well, it has softener in it, and I usually don't use softener because I have sensitive skin. Well, Not only did I drench it in softener, I proceeded to dry it. I started folding, and among all of the nice and soft clothes, is his shirt. UGH!!! I went in and immediately confessed. What was a girl to do? I could have hid it under the bed, but I am a good person and would not have been able to deal with that secret:). He took it well, actually amazing. I thought he would have been a tad bit more upset, because, well, ummmm....he did warn me last week not to put the shirt in the dryer. Ooops.

2. I bought some supplies for my christmas presents (as previously posted). I had to wash some of these supplies. So I went ahead and washed them all together on cold. Big major FAIL. Lets just say, I am running out to the store to "re-stock" some of my supplies. Apparently the reallllly dark load before and yes, some other dark items that were placed in the wash with the supplies, bleed through. ::sigh::.

It was not meant to be my day in washer land. I have learned my lesson: Let Ned do all the wash from here on out.

Procrastination...

I am not a procrastinator when it comes to something I WANT done. If I am not enthusiastic about it, I do tend to procrastinate. So in school, I was usually that person who did their papers and assignments when they were first handed out. I even read all of the assigned books in my English classes within the first few weeks because I was excited about it. Yes, I am a dork, but I wanted good grades, and I wanted to do well in school, so I never really procrastinated. I do procrastinate when it comes to cleaning, and doing errands. Those things, I put off to a fault.

Well, today, I am very excited to announce that I have NOT procrastinated on our Christmas presents. I refuse to be freaking out at the last minute just to buy a gift that the person may or may not want. I want my recipients to love their gifts, and I want to be proud to give it. So I went out and bought most of my presents. Let me just say though, that these presents will take some time to make, so in all reality, I do need time. I also need to get half of them done by Dec. 4th. My parents are coming to visit, and I want them to take the presents back home so I don't have to ship them. So, wish me luck on my new endeavor. I will show you the end results, but not until I have given them:).

I also will be starting my diet back up again starting Wed. The funny thing is, is that Ned said he wants to be apart of it. He wouldn't mind eating most of the foods assigned to me. What a funny guy:) Ned eats Dorritos, chips and salsa but the ton. But, in his defense, he does love vegetables. We'll see. I am NOT putting him on the whole diet, but I am glad that he is willing to eat some meals to help support me.

One more thing to add to this random post. This whole time change is really messing with me. I woke up early. I was hungry but 10:00, and am now ready for dinner at 2:00. Can't we just stay on the same time? This is semi-annoying.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Here are our pumpkin carving pics!:)

Me with my pumpkin

Me getting a little...too excited

Ned starting his out

Me gutting mine out. I then proceeded to gut Ned's because he doesn't like the feeling. I actually do like pumpkin guts, so it is perfect. I would rather gut out a pumpkin then carve one. This year was a little different, because I wasn't feeling all that hot stomach wise, but it worked out fine:).

Ooooh Spooky pumpkins!

Ummm. Ya. Niña trying to get into the holiday spirit. Don't mind her big booty:)

Ragzie trying to find some "guys" to watch

I tried to find their old halloween costumes, but they are packed away. So they enjoyed wearing their other outfits for a while. We had Cindy, Sophie and Aaron over to watch the KU game. Although we lost, we still had fun. I wore my Nurse outfit because honestly, when else would I wear it? (I'm NOT a nurse:)) We later went to Mass. St. (downtown) to watch all of the kiddos parade the street. We had dinner outdoors and had a great time! We are now about ready to start our scary movie and end our halloween with an end to a great day!

Oh, and someone wants to say Happy Halloween:)...

Beautiful fall day!

Good news! I can eat whatever I want for a week to let my stomach heal! Yay!!! Although I don't quite have the appetite to go with it, at least I can eat whatever sounds appealing. Next good news....I FINISHED my honeymoon album. I have been working on it since Feb. I gave up a few times. It got annoying. But in the end, I am proud and glad that we now have something to show for all of our adventures. I learned a lot of things, and might change some things for the next album. I plan on doing an Ireland and a Maine one.  So LOTS of good news (at least for me!:).

Ok, and now for some pictures. We took these a few weeks ago on campus. The trees were not peak yet, but it was a beautiful day. Since they have peaked, all of the days have been kind of blah and not photo worthy. I also don't look all that good, being in sweats. But, it is not like I am about to go on a walk wearing heels!  So enjoy!

Pancakes and Tacos

I wrote this last night...enjoy:).

Hello! I figured I would give an update...I would like it is everyone would look to the right of here screen. There are two tickers. One for Halloween, the other, for KU basketball. Halloween rocks and I am so excited. But see the KU one? OMG...7 DAYS!! I am totally freaking out. It is almost time!

In other news, I am totally loving this Law and Order marathon. I am trying to clean and get some stuff done around here, but I just can't pull myself away. I guess one big option would be for me to turn off the TV. But, no. I am not that motivated today. :). I will get my stuff done eventually. Ned and I also plan on going for a walk, and watching some Battlestar, so the TV will get turned off eventually.

So my stomach was bothering me this weekend, and I am happy to say that I kinda sorta finally have my appetite back. The only catch? My appetite is basically only centered on foods I can't eat. Lovely. I mean what am I absolutely drop dead freaking out craving? Pancakes (of course) but most of all, TACOS. I would do almost anything for a huge BEEF (?) taco. Funny thing is, I don't eat beef.

I have been put on a special diet, and while it is strict, I have been doing pretty good (except for the slip up of pancakes yesterday...oops). But due to this semi strict diet, I may need to incorporate some more meat and protein into my diet. I mean hey, a girl can't really live off of shrimp now can she? So I am going to start introducing some chicken into my meals. I think my body may take it ok, because I have been eating fish. But the introduction process can be a little intense (stomach wise). I will keep you posted:).

Also, let me tell a five second story. When I was in 5th grade, I got sick (stomach, but I won't supply you with any nasty details). But, it took me YEARS to even try tomato soup again. So, basically, all of my new diet food, is now on the ::gag:: list. I am hoping my appetite returns back to normal because I need to be eating those ::gag:: items I speak of.
Well, that's my update, and I will try my hardest not to eat a taco. I know Ned will do everything he can to help me keep to my diet, but what if I sneak away while he is at class? No one will ever know...J/K.

::update:: I caved. I just devoured 1.5 bean burritos. I have not eaten that much for days. I am officially satisfied.
